Oops.

Somehow we made a smelly.
Now you are thinking "quick, get me outa here!"
So we have a choice for you:

  • go to the home page or

  • go to boomshakalaka!

Electric power has 3 phases.

Boomshakalaka has 3 powerful faces.

Thor

A god, apparently.

And rather yummy, apparently.

He can make sparks with a hammer.

Thor also liked oak trees, for some reason. This might have had something to do with oak tree worship, but to be certain we will have to travel back in time to the bronze age.

What we can be certain of, though, is that Thursday is named after this very important character from Norse mythology.

We like Thor almost as much as we like Marvel Comics.

Tesla

Tesla the man, not the car. Like the car, Nikola understood how to tune into great power.

"All peoples everywhere should have free energy sources... electric power is everywhere present in unlimited quantities and can drive the world's machinery without the need for coal, oil or gas."

He knew.

Einstein was once asked how it felt to be the smartest man alive. Einstein's reply was "I don't know, you'll have to ask Nikola Tesla".

Tesla was not only really smart, but he was also very hard working and that is a lovely combination.

Jobs

Ok, so his name does not start with the letter "T" but that is not why he stands out here or why he stood out in the computer marketing, or even in the business world.

He did not stand out because his dad was Syrian, though his origins did help to shape his feelings about authority.

Jobs really got going when he brought out the Macintosh personal computer and launched it with a reinterpretation of Orwell's 1984.

Apple became the computer company that was going to save humanity from conformity. It was the watershed moment.

We like that a lot.

Next Time

This month we have Thor, Tesla and Steve Jobs. The next round we'll feature Marie Curie, Maria von Trapp and Maria Montessori.

Feedback can be good
